weeds

so i think my favorite thing about the series weeds, so far, is it's theme song. i really loved it every episode during the first season. some to find out, they chose to have a different musical artist to cover the song each episode in the 2nd and 3rd seasons.

people that have done the song:
Elvis Costello, Death Cab for Cutie, Engelbert Humperdinck, Regina Spektor, Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice, Randy Newman, Donovan, Billy Bob Thornton, The Shins, Joan Baez, The Decemberists, Linkin Park and Rise Against.

CONS:
the main plot of the show is pretty basic and was almost the same as the plot to Saving Grace, written by Craig Ferguson, and starring Brenda Blethan. Lady's husband dies, gotta pay bills. However, Weeds, take a Deparate Housewives spin on things. Broads always got a iced latte in hand, has a ridiculously sick mention house, with pool, fountain, and a land rover. She's never worked and for some reason thinks selling dirt weed is going to pay the rent and afford her FUCKING hired help. That's right, bitch is too stupid to cut the fucking MAID, MAID from the budget. good lord. no sense. none at all. it's really quite shallow, but that's to be expected and you get comfortable with it. Even though I doubt she ever gets a break and chooses to be smart about things. Jeopardizing her family. when it boils down to the show, it really is unrealistic to a silly point. there is no way this white lady would last in the business without ending up dead, getting that greedy so fast. she manages to overcome anything thrown at here weed problems, family problems, and lover issues all because .....

why you ask??

she's hot. she got a nice ass, which everyone seems to mention and she consistently gets hit on by every man that's not related to her. and i hear that changes too. (meaning in a later season her son is attracted to her as well.)

PROS:
kevin G.D. nealon. i love that guy. i always have. he used to host weekend update when i was growing up with snl. god days. norm was always a hoot as well. i really love that almost every time mary louis parker take a sip out of a straw, that sounds happens. you know the sound, the kind that happens at the end of a iced drink when there is just a little ice water getting through the straw. it doesn't even seem to matter what she's drinking or how empty the cup is, the sounds HAPPENS. and i love that. it's nice to see elizabeth perkins doing something so great as well. it seems like she just played peoples moms forever. she's really getting to shine in this show. i feel like in some ways, this is one of those shows where the main character is the least interesting and it's shadowed out by the rest of the exciting world based around it. everyone is fucking. it's like true blood for potheads. except people look closer to normal in this show, not everyone is a greek god or goddess.

so it's decent, next up, i'm starting dexter!!
