Raging Boll
2010
Director: Dan Lee West
Documentary
---------

this was my favorite documentary during the fest HANDS DOWN. first off i should say that i have yet to see an uwe boll movie. however, i did seem him box live once with tim league at fantastic fest, and that was fun. i have several of his films in my netflix cue, because, i mean let's face it. if the films are all train wrecks, you gotta see them. the attraction of bad taste has existed in many forms but always has it's followers. john waters? ed wood? manos hands of fate? all movies that are loved due to their certain "horribleness".

uwe is a nutzo german independent filmmaker, and HE is awesome. i don't know if his films are or not, but that's irrelevant, because this movie is about the underdog artist in a way. plus it's always great when you get to hear an irate german man call michael bay "muzzurfuckerzs". great, capitol G! Maybe in the beginning it's playing on your sympathies a little too much, but it all evens out. most of my notes consisted of crazy things he said:

"uwe boll knows more about FILM than you"
"the shit that is indie film"
"hey painter? why the fuck you paint?"

i think crazy and genius runs a fine line and wouldn't work without the other, so i'm thinking these movies, might be astounding. i'm ready to watch one now and stop typing, but i'm must push on. finish something for one in my life, like stevie wonder.

uwe is very famous for allowing blogger nerd hatred get serious by inviting his haters to fight him in a boxing match. the four fighters he boxed lost right after one another. uwe saw them as "faces of the internet" he was beating out his online criticism like a man. in a way i sort of think it's commendable, taking the "let's take this outside" approach. it's so easier to talk trash these days when you don't have to suffer the actual human emotion consequence. good show! there was also a piece of editing greatness toward the end that defiantly blew my skirt up!

Rubble Kings
2010
Director: Shan Nicholson
Documentary

what can i say about this docu? this shit ain't no fuckin west side story. good greif, sometimes i forget how vicous people can be. it had a great music selection. "ebony dukes" was my favorite gang name. it didn't really feel like a documentary to me. more like a history channel special, plus it was just a crap load of stock footage from NBC, which was a little much. the interviews were seemingly the only thing that was shot, minus a scene in a bar i think. i loved learning about the posistion in gangs called "THE WARLORD". i want that job. the rumble negociator. INTENSE! did i mention it had great music? i'd watch this if it was on cable maybe, but nothing i'd buy a ticket to see in a theatre.
